MLB’s Baltimore Orioles, quite accustomed to the latter half of the AL East may have found a new weapon.

Right fielder Nick Markakis recently bought a ping pong table for the Oriole’s clubhouse. The table is said to have some black and orange accents (Orioles colors).

Markakis had become the clubhouse champ, but offseason acquisition JJ Hardy apparently has knocked him off his thrown and wiped out a good number of other Orioles challengers.

This may not help them beat the AL East teams who already have ingrained ping pong cultures, like the Yankees and Red Sox, but it is a start.

Tampa and Toronto…any comments?
